A CONCEPT ON THE VELUWE FOR OVER 40 YEARS

The current Van der Valk Hotel Arnhem started as a café-pension called West End, a small roadside restaurant with a few rooms. In the late seventies, West-End was taken over by the Van der Valk family. Peter and Gera van der Valk took over the management in 1980, and due to the high demand at the roadside restaurant, they quickly decided to expand by adding a hotel building. The name West-End was changed to Hotel Arnhem in 2004, to make it clear where the hotel is located. People in the region still use the name West-End when referring to Hotel Arnhem.

SUSTAINABILITY

In the past decades, a lot has been renovated in the hotel and there are still ongoing improvements. The latest completed projects include refreshing the lobby, reception, restaurant, and the creation of the cozy bar-brasserie West End. The more luxurious room types have recently been renovated, and soon the comfort hotel rooms will also be upgraded. Sustainability is also a key focus at Hotel Arnhem. For example, heat is reused in the kitchen and there are 95 solar panels on the hotel roof.

With 100 hotel rooms, 10 multifunctional rooms, a restaurant with terrace, a bar-brasserie, and a fitness and wellness area, Hotel Arnhem is a very complete and atmospheric hotel. The daily management is in the hands of Wouter 't Hooft and Bart van der Valk, son of Peter and Gera, supported by the management team. The involvement of the management team and all employees is very high to ensure everyone's satisfaction. Due to the personal attention and cozy atmosphere, guests often mention a home-away-from-home feeling here. Furthermore, Hotel Arnhem has a beautiful location, right in the middle of the Veluwe. Therefore, it is very popular among nature lovers and people who enjoy walking and cycling. Located near the A12 and A50, the hotel is easily accessible. Moreover, you can reach the center of Arnhem within 10 minutes by car from the hotel.
