OLYMPIC CHAMPION RANOMI KROMOWIDJOJO CHOOSES ART FROM VAN ABBEMUSEUM FOR VAN DER VALK HOTEL EINDHOVEN

Triple Olympic champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo has selected four artworks from the collection of the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. The carefully chosen paintings resonate with her personal story and will be exhibited at the Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven.

With this collaboration between top sports and art, Van der Valk aims to bring art to the attention of a wide audience in an accessible way. The artworks will have a prominent place in the hotel and will serve as a bridge between culture, hospitality, and personal inspiration.

Olympic swimming champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo was inspired by her Javanese-Surinamese roots and her personal life story when selecting artworks. The four selected pieces from the collection of the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven reflect themes such as identity, migration, and her deep connection with water - the element in which she made Olympic history.

One of the selected works is You and Me by artist Ansuya Blom. In it, two eyes are looking through a small opening, a powerful metaphor for the search for one's own identity and human connection. This theme closely resonates with Kromowidjojo's background and life path.

The Van Abbemuseum aims to bring art closer to the public with this initiative, outside the traditional museum halls. "The collection belongs to and is for the city of Eindhoven. We consider it important to make it accessible to everyone," says Kelly Hamers on behalf of the museum.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo's art selection can be admired from Wednesday in the display case of the Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven. The project represents a unique cross-pollination between top sports, culture, and hospitality.
